Devil's Food Cake... The CAST

Sarah McGuire

Sarah McGuire started her journey into the world of film in 2012. She has appeared in several short films and a few full features including The Tree, The Matchbreaker, and Found Wandering Lost. Despite all of this, she says, “She still has no idea what she's doing.”

 

Devil’s Food Cake is one of her more recent productions, and has been, (by far), she  reports, her most emotional, demanding, and satisfying challenge to date. Sarah is also the writer-producer of her own short film, Distortion.

Davis DeRock

Davis DeRock has been acting and filmmaking since 2003. Co-creator of C2D2 Productions, he graduated from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in 2007 and has since acted and been credited in many films, commercials, and theatre productions. 

Chad Crenshaw

A prolific actor and Improv comedian, Chad Crenshaw, in addition to his performance in E.P.G., also costars in the sci-fi horror feature, "No Good Heroes." Chad also had the opportunity to go to the Cannes Film Festival with two short films in 2014.  Aside from acting, Chad has co-written and directed over a dozen short films. Several have won awards in festivals, the last two being awarded Best Film.

Kip Niven

Kip Niven has appeared on Broadway, Off-Broadway, regional theatres, in 100+ network TV shows, and over a dozen feature films including  “Jayhawkers,” “Magnum Force,” “Earthquake,” “Midway,” and yes, “New Year’s Evil.” 

 

He has worked in virtually every professional theatre in Kansas City including: Starlight Theatre’s “Mary Poppins” and “Sound of Music.” New Theatre Restaurant’s “Never Too Late” and “Cactus Flower.” KC Repertory Theatre’s “Death of a Salesman” and “August Osage County.” Spinning Tree’s “West Side Story” and “The Fantasticks” and Musical Theater Heritage “Oliver!” “Gypsy” & “Urinetown.” The father of three, grandfather of five, cat-father of two, Kip lives in Leawood, KS with his sweetheart, Claudia Copping.

Seth Baskett

Seth started acting in 2008 appearing in independent films and commercials produced in Kansas City. Having written comedy bits, and serving as a lead set designer, carpenter, and electrician. He is also an Associate Producer of Devil's Food Cake.  

Jim Korinke

Jim Korinke has appeared on stage, screen, and television since 1979 and has no plans for stopping. Appearing in the widely distributed feature film, The House on Pine Street, Jim Korinke was also the star of a highly regarded one man theater production, Cronkite.

Mary Wikens

A finalist in the Project Playwright (2015, KC). Mary Wilkens is accustomed to playing varied roles. A grieving mom in Soulmates,  an early Alzheimer’s patient in Forget Me Not,  a 1940’s carnival attendee in a Radkey music video, and a best friend in The Girls. Mary also wrote the 2017 Audience Choice Award Film, Poopsie’s Legacy, for the IFCKC One Night Stand.
